An email sender profile manages your email sending configuration, including:

  • Health status tracking, based on performance metrics and reputation monitoring
  • One dedicated sender address per sender profile

This article outlines how to set up a sender profile for email sending in the platform.

This article only applies to sender profiles using Pendula's built-in email provider.

Prerequisites

  • Administrative access to updating your domain’s DNS records
  • A domain or subdomain for email sending

Creating sender profile

  1. Navigate to the Sender Profiles tab, click the ‘Pendula email’ tile under Setup new sender profile section.
  2. Enter profile name and optional description for your sender profile. Select the content type for this sender profile:

    1. Transactional: transaction confirmations, account updates and event within your business.
    2. Marketing: Promotional content and commercial messages (unsubscribe link required for compliance).
  3. Add a new domain or select an existing one.

A subdomain (e.g. support.yourdomain.com) is recommended to protect your primary domain reputation. This cannot be changed after creation.

Advanced settings (optional) You can override the default mail-from address with a custom one. If MX records fail, emails will fall back to Pendula’s default mail-from address to ensure delivery continues. Change the default ‘Mail from’ address to a custom unique address.

  4. Configure optional CC, BCC, and reply-to addresses. These will be the default addresses for this profile, with the option to add more when building your flows.
  5. Click Download DNS records. Add these records to your domain provider’s DNS settings to verify you own the sender domain.
  6. Click Refresh status to check verification. This can take up to 48 hours depending on your domain provider. The domain status and email authentication status (DKIM) must be verified before you can send an email using this sender profile.
  7. Once verified, click Activate to enable the sender profile.
