Sender health reflects how well your messages are being received, and directly affects your ability to send. It's calculated using signals like data quality, message quality, and recipient engagement.

This article only applies to sender profiles using Pendula's built-in email provider.

High engagement keeps your sender health strong. Low engagement — or issues like high bounce rates, spam complaints, or domain blacklisting — can cause it to decline. If it drops too far, your sender profile may be suspended and sending will be paused until the issue is resolved.

Sender health for email

Your email sender profile moves through different statuses depending on where it is in the setup process and how your sending activity is tracked over time.Draft – Your sender profile has been saved but setup isn't complete yet. No messages can be sent until you finish configuring and verifying your profile.

  • Pending – Your profile has been submitted and is awaiting verification from the domain provider.
  • Active – Your profile is verified and ready to use in flows. No performance metrics have been recorded yet.
  • Healthy – Your profile is active and no deliverability issues have been detected. Your sending reputation is in good standing.
  • At Risk – Low-to-high severity warnings have been detected with your sending activity. You can still send, but you should investigate and address the issue to avoid suspension. Review your contact list for invalid addresses and check your message content for anything that could trigger spam filters.
  • Suspended – Sending has been paused due to serious deliverability concerns. No messages can be sent from this profile until the issue is reviewed and resolved.
  • Needs attention – Sending has been temporarily re-enabled following a suspension, but low-to-high severity warnings are still present. Review your contact list for invalid addresses and check your message content for anything that could trigger spam filters
  • Error – An issue occurred, and no messages can be sent from this profile until it is reviewed and resolved. Once resolved, your sender profile will move to a Resuming state.
  • Resuming – Your profile is in the process of recovering from an error and will return to its previous status once the issue has been resolved.

FAQ

Q: Why isn’t my sender profile showing metrics?

This happens when a profile hasn't been used recently or was just reactivated after being unused for a period of time.

To restore metrics, start sending messages through the profile again. Metrics will appear within 14 days (calculated on a rolling 14-day period). Health status will update automatically once sending resumes.
