The WhatsApp channel is an Early Access feature. Contact your Account Executive for more information.

This article describes how to send an outbound message to a customer, using a pre-approved WhatsApp template.

The Send WhatsApp template message node provides the ability to

  • choose the WhatsApp Business Account you want to send your message from
  • choose the recipient
  • choose the number you want to send your message from
  • select the WhatsApp template from the list of pre-approved templates
  • populate the parameters for the selected template

and send an outbound WhatsApp message to your customer from a Pendula flow.

The Send WhatsApp template message node can be used at any point in your flow where you want to send an outbound WhatsApp message.

Send a WhatsApp template message

  1. From the Flow Builder, drag the Send WhatsApp template message node into the flow at the point where you want to send your message.
  2. Select the Connection you want to use from the drop-down list.
  3. Enter the number for your WhatsApp Recipient.
  4. Select the Sender number from the drop-down list.
  5. Select the Message template from the drop-down list.
The parameter(s) for the selected template will load into the node.
  6. Enter the value(s) for the template parameters.
  7. Click Save.

The message is now ready to be sent when you activate your flow.

Outcomes

You can optionally configure a failure path on the Outcomes tab, to provide a fallback option if there is a problem sending your WhatsApp template message.
