Read on to learn more about these new features.
New Pendula settings
Our Salesforce Package now publishes events for Email and SMS messages to the Activity Timeline view. This lets you see incoming messages in chronological order, and view the message by body by clicking on the message record link.
To enable events in Activity History, open the Pendula Settings tab inside Salesforce and select the Activity Timeline checkboxes for the events you wish to view.
SMS Templates
Templates are now available for SMS messages, giving you the ability to define standard message formats for the objects where you are using Console.
Templates are created and managed by users with the Pendula Template Designer permission set.
Console Updates
The Console user experience has been refreshed and improved with
- the ability to manually or automatically refresh the message view
- colour coding of messages to show delivery status and errors
- the ability to select Templates for easy message creation
- support for multiple recipients from a single console view
Message states
We’ve updated the way messages are displayed in Console to make it easier to view the status of your conversations.
Queued
When you click Send in the Console, the message is added to the messaging gateway queue.
Messages in this state are shown with a dark grey background.
Sent to gateway
When a queued message is accepted for delivery by the messaging gateway, the background colour changes to green.
Message from recipient
Messages sent by or initiated by your customer are shown on the left-hand side of the console, with a light grey background.
Error
If there is an issue when trying to send your message to the recipient, the message is highlighted in red.
Details about the issue can be viewed by hovering over the triangle indicator.
Console refresh
Console now supports automatic or manual refresh of the messaging window.
You can choose to manually refresh the list of messages, or automatically update every 30 seconds by selecting an option from the settings menu at the top right.
Multiple recipients
Console now supports the ability to view, read and respond to messages from multiple recipients.
Activity History
A record of all SMS and Email messages sent to or received from a recipient can now be viewed in the Activity History timeline by enabling the (optional) event records.
Clicking on a link will take you to a preview of the related message.
Permission sets
Version 3.0 of the Pendula for Salesforce Managed Package includes a number of Permission Sets that must be used when installing and accessing features.
These permission sets make it easier for Salesforce Administrators to control which users have access to different features, and to add or remove permissions as necessary.

The following new features require a Salesforce Administrator to perform some tasks after installing the Pendula Salesforce Managed Package, in order to enable these features and provide access to authorised users.
