Release 2.0.0

Salesforce Managed Package updates and new features

The version 2.0.0 release of the Pendula for Enterprise Salesforce Managed Package provides a range of new features for customers using Salesforce with Pendula for Enterprise.

New fields

The following fields are now available to Salesforce customers using the managed package.

These new fields will not automatically be added to existing Message and Message Event page layouts as part of the managed package update process. As a result, please inform your Salesforce Administrator if you would like these fields visible on specific layouts.

Message object

These new fields provide further helpful context to show which record was used to trigger a particular experience, which object was used, and to report on experiences by these values.

Field Label Field Name Type Use
Email Body Plain Text Pendula4E__Email_Body_Plain_Text__c Long Text Area(131072) Stores a plain text version of emails when available
Node Id Pendula4E__Node_Id__c Text(255) Stores the identifier for the node in the Pendula flow that was used to trigger the message
Output Name Pendula4E__Output_Name__c Text(255) Shows the output name relating to the node that is associated with the message
Triggering Object Name Pendula4E__Triggering_Object_Name__c Text(255) Stores the name of the object that triggered the message - e.g. Case.
Triggering Record Id Pendula4E__Triggering_Record_Id__c Text(255) Stores the Id of the record that triggered the message.

These fields help with

  • viewing the plain text version of outbound emails
  • understanding how customers progress through each experience
  • seeing which object triggered a particular experience

Message Event object

Additional error reporting makes it easier to see and troubleshoot messaging events without leaving your Salesforce environment.

Field Label Field Name Type Use
Error Code Pendula4E__Error_Code__c Text(255) Returns an error code that can be useful when diagnosing issues with message deliverability
Error Message Pendula4E__Error_Message__c Long Text Area(32768) Returns an error message that can be useful when diagnosing issues with message deliverability

Example:

An email you sent to a customer was not received. While your Pendula flow automatically progressed to an alternate channel to successfully contact the customer, you want to understand why the email was not received.

By checking the Error Message and Error Code, you see that the email address is no longer recognised. This means you can start your update details flow to reach out to the customer and get their new email address, so you can make sure your records are correct for future emails.

New reports

A set of standard reports is now available as part of the managed package. As with all Salesforce Reports, these can be edited to customise the filters or layouts depending on your reporting requirements.

  • Console SMS sent last 30 days: Any SMS triggered via the Pendula Console in the last 30 days
  • Inbound SMS (last 30 days): Any Inbound SMS received in the last 30 days
  • Success/Failed Emails (last 30 days): Outbound emails (grouped by Message Status) triggered in the last 30 days
  • Total SMS Segments by Month: Total number of outbound SMS segments triggered (grouped by month)
  • Success/Failed SMS (last 30 days): Outbound SMS (grouped by Message Status) triggered in the last 30 days

Reports will be available in the Pendula Reports folder of your Salesforce org after the package is installed.

If more than one Pendula Reports folder exists, use the most recently installed version.
