Message records in Salesforce

All outbound and inbound communication sent to and from Pendula is synced back to your Salesforce environment as Pendula4E__Message__c records.

A message record contains:

  • the contents of what was sent;
  • the recipient record (or records) it matches back to; and,
  • if available, the context of the message (the Pendula flow it was sent by)

How to view message records within Salesforce

In the Pendula app, select the Messages tab.

You can view message records based on the following list views:

  • Recently Viewed
  • All

The following table lists the information available in each message record.

Message record data

Let's take a look at the message object and fields.

Field Purpose
Message Number The unique identifier of the message - e.g. M-000150
Channel

The type of message sent from or to Pendula.

SMS - An SMS message

Email - An email sent from Pendula via a flow

Direction

The direction of the message.

Outbound - Sent from Pendula, either via a flow or console

Inbound - Sent to Pendula

Flow Name The name of the flow that sent or received the message
Flow Version The version of the named flow that sent or received the message
Flow Id The unique identifier of the flow - e.g. 7a375262-9371-4266-a64d-530ec3c99711
Status

The status of the message. This will change depending on the lifecycle of the message.

Queued - Temporary status of the message, awaiting confirmation of delivery

Sent To Gateway - Email message has been sent to the email gateway, awaiting delivery

Delivered - Message has been delivered

Failed - Message could not be delivered

Bounced - Email message has bounced

Opened - Email message has been opened

Message Date Time The date/time when the message was sent or received
